Our Design Story

Better flow by design.

Design is what allows us to think and act smarter on behalf of the world we live in.

Product Information

We recommend washing your Bivo bottle regularly to keep it looking and tasting great.

Before initial use, wash your bottle and bottle components with mild soap and warm water.

To clean, remove the nozzle* and straw**, and unscrew the lid. You can wash your Bivo bottle components by hand with warm water and a mild soap. While the bottle itself can be placed in the dishwasher we recommend hand washing with mild soap to preserve the tactile exterior coating.

*To remove your nozzle, first pull the nozzle up into the open position. With the lid removed, look inside the lid and find one of the three nozzle tabs. Press one of these tabs and pull your nozzle out at a slight angle. If it is difficult, try gently rocking your nozzle back and forth until it comes out easily. Do not force the nozzle out as it could cause damage.

**To remove your straw, simply pull on it from the halfway point until it pops off the lid.

We designed the Bivo bottles to fit into most universal bike cages.

After much testing, we have seen that not all cages are created equal. Don't worry...you can rest assured that your Bivo bottle will fit into most cages.

To help, we have created a list below of the cages we have tested and vetted for the Bivo bottles. These are the best fitting cages from our internal product testing and we will keep adding to this list as more testing is completed.

Best classic stainless/titanium wire cages:

- TBD (testing in progress)

Best plastic/carbon cages:

- Arundel Sport

- Arundel Mandible

- Arundel Bando

- Blackburn Camber

- Cannodale GT40 Carbon

- Octto Pro Carbon

Best side-access cages:

- TBD (testing in progress)

While our bottle itself is dishwasher safe, we recommend hand washing it with warm water and mild soap to ensure you preserve your exterior finish.

Bivo bottles are made from recyclable 304 stainless-steel, the lid is made from FDA-grade and BPA free polypropylene (plastic #5), and all components including the straw, nozzle, o-rings, and the tactile exterior coating are made from food-grade silicone.

No (not yet at least), all Bivo bottles are built with a single wall construction and are not insulated.

For our initial product release, we chose to focus on a single wall stainless-steel bottle for a lightweight cycling experience. Make sure to sign up for our newsletter to stay up to date on new product releases because an insulated bottle is hot on our list!!

While your Bivo nozzle will seal shut, it is not completely leak-proof. We do not recommend putting your bottle in a bag with items that are sensitive to liquid.

The bottle body is made of 304 stainless steel and can be placed in most municipal recycling bins. The lid is made from a durable polypropylene (#5 plastic) and the components (nozzle, straw, o-ring) are made from silicone. These materials are not typically accepted by municipal recycling programs. We first recommend reaching out to your local recycling community to determine if there is a potential recycling/downcycling stream for these materials. If that is unsuccessful, TerraCycle offers a mail-in Zero Waste program that can be utilized to downcycle the Bivo lid and components.

Please be sure to separate the components into their respective material types prior to disposal.

We designed the Bivo bottles to be modular and recyclable/downcyclable. We are working to find easier solutions to make recycling your Bivo One an easier process. Until then, please reach out at thirsty@drinkbivo.com if you have any recycling questions. We are more than happy to help!
