Product Information

To start the flow of water, pull up on the nozzle slightly to open it. Then, tip your bottle up to your mouth to start drinking. Water should flow out effortlessly.

To close your bottle, push the nozzle down to the closed position. When tipped over, water shouldn't come out.

We now have four different bottle styles designed to meet a variety of desires including: insulation, height, weight, and finish.

We know selecting the right bottle is a personal journey so we created our Bottle Guide to help you navigate your decision. Happy reading!

We recommend washing your Bivo bottle regularly to keep it looking and tasting great.

Before initial use, wash your bottle and bottle components with mild soap (for example, don't use Dawn) and warm water.

To clean, remove the nozzle* and straw**, and unscrew the lid. You can wash your Bivo bottle components by hand with warm water and a mild soap. The body of the bottle and the silicone components can be put in the dishwasher. You were also provided a long silicone squeegee for cleaning the straw. Reference FAQ below titled "What is the black silicone cord...for?"

*To remove your nozzle, first pull the nozzle up into the open position. With the lid removed, look inside the lid and find one of the three nozzle tabs. Press one of these tabs and pull your nozzle out at a slight angle. If it is difficult, try gently rocking your nozzle back and forth until it comes out easily. Do not force the nozzle out as it could cause damage. A bit confused? That’s ok, here’s a video for you to watch to help out a little more! (video)

**To remove your straw, simply pull on it from the halfway point until it pops off the lid.

Through our own testing and customer interaction, we’ve learned the perfect bottle cage is entirely based on personal preference. How tight you like the cage to hold your bottle, the material, and location on your frame vary. Generally, we have found side loading cages work well for small frames, and carbon/plastic cages will hold the bottle tighter than metal cages.

Check out our blog post on cage fit for some answers to common questions asked by customers and a cage fit guide we created to aid your decision and set your expectations.

YES! Keeping the Bivo bottles easy to clean was a goal right from the beginning! After a series of focus groups, it was evident this is an important feature!

The body of the bottle is dishwasher safe, as are the silicone nozzle and straw. We do recommend mild soap (Seventh Generation is a good option) as we have found that using strong detergents (Cascade) in the dishwasher can impart taste into the silicone lid components.

The lid can be placed in the top rack of the dishwasher, but we like washing them by hand.

That is a squeegee to clean the removable straw attached to the underside of the lid. Pull it through your straw and if you haven't cleaned your bottle after last week's ride, you might find some nasty stuff in there. Admittedly, we were skeptical of its capabilities in the beginning too. But it works shockingly well and is quite satisfying.

If you need any replacement parts that are not sold on our website, simply email us with your request at thirsty@drinkbivo.com, and we will be happy to send out what you need.

Bivo bottles are made from recyclable 304 stainless-steel. The lid is made from FDA-grade, BPA/BPS-free polypropylene (#5), and all components including the straw, nozzle, o-rings, and the tactile exterior coating are made from LFGB compliant food-grade silicone.

What’s so awesome about stainless? So many things, but clean taste and the fact that it is infinitely recyclable are on the top of our list!

The Bivo One,One Raw,Duo, and Duo Raw are built with a single-wallconstruction and are NOT insulated. We knew some of you would be skeptical of having heavier bottles, so we launched with the single wall version. Some benefits of the single wall construction are that they are smaller and lighter than their insulated sibling.

Want to keep your water cold? No problem! Our Bivo Trio and Trio Raw are built with a double-wall vacuum insulated construction and are designed to keep your beverages cold for 12+ hours of chill.

The Bivo One, One Raw, Duo, and Duo Raw are not intended for use with hot liquids. They are made with a single-wall construction and therefore are not insulated. This means that the bottle can become scalding hot to the touch if hot liquids are poured into the bottle.

The Bivo Trio and Trio Raw are also not intended for use with hot liquids. The high flow rate design of this bottle allows generous amounts of liquid to be poured suddenly into the mouth. Hot, carbonated, and perishable liquids and other contents may build up pressure within the bottle and unexpectedly leak or spray out. Always open with caution. But, let’s be real – we put warm, not hot, liquids in our Trios all the time. And we know you do too. It’s a huge benefit of having an insulated bottle on cold days. Please be smart and reasonable with the temperature of the liquids you put in your bottles.

While your Bivo nozzle will seal shut, it is not completely leak-proof. We do not recommend putting your bottle in a bag with items that are sensitive to liquid.

Stainless steel is an awesome material and just like most things, it requires care and upkeep. SS is highly rust resistant, it’s not completely rust proof. While not super common, you might see rust on your bottle from time to time and it’s very easy to get rid of. Simply mix white vinegar and baking soda into a paste texture, apply to the rust and let sit for a few minutes. Scrub it clean after it sits with a stiffer bristled sponge or brush. If you can't remove the rust, we encourage you to contact the Bivo team at thirsty@drinkbivo.com.

The bottle body is made of 304 stainless steel and can be placed in most municipal recycling bins. The lid is made from a durable polypropylene (#5 plastic) and the components (nozzle, straw, o-ring) are made from silicone. These materials are not typically recycled by municipal recycling programs due to lack of economic viability. We first recommend reaching out to your local recycling community to determine if there is a potential recycling/downcycling stream for these materials. If that is unsuccessful, TerraCycle offers a mail-in Zero Waste program that can be utilized to downcycle the Bivo lid and components.

Please be sure to separate the components into their respective material types prior to disposal.

We designed the Bivo bottles to be modular and recyclable/downcyclable. We are working to find solutions to make recycling your Bivo bottle an easier process. Until then, please reach out at thirsty@drinkbivo.com if you have any recycling questions. We are more than happy to help!
