Our Newest Athlete Bottle: Brain Bites by Chloe Levins

November 11th, 2025 | by Chloe Levins

Hey everyone, we're so happy to announce our newest athlete collaboration bottle this week with US biathlete Chloe Levins! Chloe studied Buddhism and neuroscience in undergrad and has a deep appreciation for philosophical thought, often using these ideas to motivate her in life and in sport. Her bottle contains some of her very favorite quotes that she would like to share with you all to inspire you or someone you love :)

We asked Chloe to share a short explanation about each quote to better understand why she chose each one as well as to understand the deeper meaning of these words. Here's what she had to say:

We asked Chloe to share a short explanation about each quote to better understand why she chose each one as well as to understand the deeper meaning of these words. Here's what she had to say:

Good thoughts, words, deeds.

Taken from the Buddhist path to liberation. Paraphrased from, “Purify your mind, your speech, and your actions – and suffering begins to dissolve.”

Improving (not proving).

Relates to the Buddhism philosophy of non-attachment to outcomes. Embodies the Stoic idea that your peace of mind should not be attached to external outcomes or opinions. Let go of ego-based judgement while still practicing what’s within control.

Stay a student.

Paraphrasing a stoic quote from Epictetus: “You cannot learn what you think you already know.” It’s about staying curious rather than certain in both success and failure.

Every flower grows through dirt.

Every flower grows through dirt.

Challenges, hardships, and imperfections are necessary conditions for growth. In Buddhism, the lotus rises from muddy waters, which represents a medium that allows for inner transformation.

The obstacle is the way.

Paraphrasing a Marcus Aurelius quote, “The impediment to action advances action. What stands in the way becomes the way.” Embrace struggle because profit lies on the other side.

Ego is the enemy.

Ego stunts your growth and humility guides your learning. The only failure is in believing you're ever a final product.

Dance with what you brought.

Something my mom was told during her professional golf career to emphasize preparation over outcome. You don’t need to become someone new when it’s time to perform – just inhabit what’s already you.

Pressure is what you put in tires.

A sure way to get a smile before big moments and a reminder that pressure is something we create in our minds. Except for the kind you put in tires – pressure is a construct.

Put your blinders on.

Something that my mom used to always say when I started to focus more on what other people are doing versus myself. A Stoic-performance philosophy about how staying with your process is the best recipe for success.

Be less impressed. Get more involved.

Alright, alright, alright…a Matthew McConaughey quote from Greenlights. A reminder to not get swept up in admiration or image, but authentically engage in the work itself.

Set your mind. The rest will follow.

Paraphrasing “What you are thinking today is creating your future.” Your body will follow your brain, so make sure your brain is thinking good thoughts.

No pressure, no diamonds.

The same moments that test you usually hold the greatest opportunities, so you might as well embrace them.

Let it shine.

Something my mom used to say – a message to not let anyone dim your light or get in the way of your greatest potential.

We had a blast getting to know Chloe this year and work on this bottle with her, carefully selecting each quote and placement. We hope you love it as much as we do!

And as she heads to Europe to start her season, we wish her the best of luck :)
