Recently, I was talking to an employee at a bike shop in Colorado, and he asked one of my favorite questions to answer.
"So, what's Vermont like?" he asked.
He had never visited the East Coast and was honest about his biased favoritism toward the West. When I told him Vermont was beautiful, lush, green, with rolling hills as far as the eye can see, he didn't believe me.
"No, really. It's absolutely beautiful!" I exclaimed.
It’s part of why we love our hometown so much. While this obviously isn’t the only reason we get outside, the landscape has a way of making every ride a little more memorable.
Last month, The Bivo team spent the day outside on our bikes enjoying these green hills we call home with a few extra stops along the way to enjoy some of our favorite Vermont activities: A dip in the local river and a post-ride creemee! Here's a little glimpse into a pretty perfect Vermont day. And if you look closely, you might just spot some future Bivo colors ;)
Oh! And if you ever find yourself in Vermont, whether you're planning a cycling trip or just passing through, we hope you'll stop by and say hi.

The day started as it always does: in the warehouse.
Sam is our amazing warehouse manager. They work hard every day to get your orders packed and shipped. They're also hilarious. If you need a good laugh, you can always count on Sam.

We headed out on one of our favorite routes: down Cochran Road to Dugway! Cochran Road, named after the famous Cochran family, might be the flattest road in all of Chittenden County, so there's almost always someone biking, running, or roller skiing by. There are even kilometer markers along the road so people training know exactly how far they've ridden from Cochran's Ski Area.

Once the road turned to gravel, we all spread out and slowed the pace a bit, giving us a chance to chat and catch up with one another. We wound our way through the twists and turns of the road, catching glimpses of the Huntington River below.

We stopped and turned around at the local Christmas tree farm (so Vermont of us!) before heading down to one of our favorite swimming holes just across the road. Ellie and Keaton were the first to jump in, with Sam and Robby close behind. Not going to lie, the water was cooooold. But on a hot day, it was certainly refreshing.

After hanging out at the river for a bit, we made our way back into town for a well-earned post-ride creemee! That's the Vermont word for soft-serve ice cream, by the way. With dairy and maple syrup being two of the state's biggest exports, we take our creemees very seriously. Especially the maple ones.
