The Role

We are currently seeking an Event Specialist. You will manage an event team across the US and travel to key cycling events throughout the year to help spread the word about Bivo and build the community around us. 

This position is full time, starting August 12th, 2024 and will be based in Richmond, VT. 

What You Will Do

- Hire and support a team of event contractors in key regions across the US. 

- Attend key events across the country (kicking off with SBT Gravel in August!) 

- Support logistics and planning for Bivo events. 

- Inventory planning and management for events - make sure we have enough bottles at each event!

- Plan events calendar in conjunction with the marketing and events team. 

- Be ready to sell bottles and represent the Bivo brand. We aim to be inclusive, fun and a positive addition to the community. 

- Network with other brands and our ambassadors/athletes at events. Work with the marketing team on managing the ambassador program. 

- Plan installations with the Bivo marketing team at events to draw attention to the booth. 

- Build out and maintain relationships with a network of onsite event support / contractors.

- Work with retailers to set up group rides, demo in store, meet with retail staff, etc. 

- Report back to the marketing team about each event in order to maintain an annual list of must-hits.

- Meet virtually with the event team once/week to learn about previous and upcoming events.  

Your skills

- Ability to communicate effectively in person with customers and athletes and virtually with the event team. 

- Organization of events, team and inventory. 

- Ability to make decisions, problem solve, prioritize assignments in an ever-changing environment. Learn about a fun new event you think we should attend? Pivot when possible and make it happen!

- Willingness to work weekends (normal 2 days off/week will be taken during the work week to accommodate this).

- Must be able to be on feet for long-periods of time and lift more than 50 lbs.

- An eye for detail. Our brand is represented at each event and the booth must look professional, fun and organized. 

- Bivo is a start up and we like to experiment, explore and pivot. A willingness to adapt and an appetite for a start up environment is essential. 

- A self-starter and problem solver with exceptional execution and follow through.

- We are a small team and encourage interaction across a variety of roles. All ideas are welcome and and being a positive team player is a must. 

- Ability to travel 8-10 times per year for key events. 

- 2-3 years of work experience in the cycling industry.
