Temps are finally starting to drop here at Bivo HQ in Vermont and it's got us thinking about our upcoming adventures. Personally, I recently made the switch from iced to hot coffee which is how I know winter is coming.
Whether it’s an early morning backcountry ski before work or a chilly afternoon bike ride in the crisp dry air. The recent colder weather is a reminder that we have so much to look forward to!

We often get asked if warm liquids are okay in a Bivo, and the answer is yes! Enjoy your warm cider, tea, or coffee! Just be mindful about the temperature of the liquid you’re putting in your Bivo, no scalding temps! We don't recommend super hot liquid as the fast flow rate of our bottles could mean a serious burn.
As stated, our Trio 17oz and 21oz Bottles keep water cold for 12+ hours and the same can be said for warm water! The same insulation we enjoy in the summer months will keep your warm drinks nice and toasty when the weather turns.

How about a nice warm coffee at the top of the skin track? Or some peppermint tea with cream and sugar to defrost after agreeing to try fat biking with your crazy cyclist friend? Yes please!
We understand that biking in the winter isn't everyone's cup of tea (no pun intended!) so we love hearing about all of the other winter adventures that people take their insulated Bivos on!

Last spring, I went on a long backcountry ski in Jay Peak, VT with some friends and somehow forgot to pack water. Not sure how I manage to do this as someone who works for a water bottle company... but I digress. I was so grateful that one of my friend's had packed her Bivo and offered to share it with me! I was then ecstatic to find the bottle filled with warm water. It sounds crazy that I would be happy about warm water, but the winds were whipping that day on top of the mountain and the warm water was perfect for warming us up without cooling our internal body temp too much. Even better is the bottle had the insulated Ventura lid, and was safely tucked into her pack, ready to be whipped out with the handy carrying strap!

Recently, one of our Canadian sales reps Janelle went for a hike in the Canadian Rockies and shared some awesome picks with the team.
A message the Bivo team received from Janelle:
"Hope all is well. Wanted to share a couple photos with the team of me out adventuring with the Ventura lid on an insulated bottle! I brought my favourite vanilla black tea with me on a snowy hike on Tent Ridge Horseshoe last weekend, one of the most iconic ridge walks in Kananaskis Country (Canadian Rockies). It kept my tea the perfect temperature for our summit lunch stop, even with the freezing temperatures!"
Thanks Janelle, you rock!
