Recently, I went to VeloPigs' annual Pignic event and it was such a fun, intimate event!

 VeloPigs is a beer and bicycle social club that's all about the love of the ride and the people you meet along the way. They are based in Leesburg, Virginia, out of the shop of one of our amazing retailers, Plum Grove Cyclery. 

 The event was a fundraiser ride in Northern Virginia, with fun music, tasty food and amazing vibes. 

I spoke with lots of people about our shared love of Vermont as, funnily enough, many of them travel there to bike and ski. 

Delicious-smelling BBQ aromas wafted their way around all afternoon as I was at Bivo’s booth and somebody very kindly went and made me a plate and brought it back to the booth for me (thanks, Ken!). 

It is always great to be back in Colorado! Last year, I moved back to Vermont from Denver, so the trip was off to a great start after getting to stay with friends the first night in Denver. The next morning we hit the road on I-70 towards Silverthorne before breaking off towards Steamboat Springs, and although I do not miss I-70 and its traffic, it was a beautiful drive! 

At SBT we were feeling the Bivo love. After returning to this event year after year, it was amazing to see people with their well loved Bivos that they bought from Robby in the first few years of the brand. This year, we offered folks the ability to Mix ‘n Match their bottles, which people really loved! It is always rewarding to see somebody walk away with a bottle completely unique to them. My favorite part is when kids come to design one, or when somebody can perfectly match their bike with our colors. 

It was a beautiful two days in Steamboat: sunny and in the 70’s for both expo days. My partner Jake joined and we loved connecting with so many people, old and new to Bivo! Another added bonus, was our Vermont Neighbor UnTapped was right down the road from us and we heard people raving about how delicious their maple creemees were as they walked through the expo!

Girls! Glitter! Getting sendy! I had so much fun bringing Bivo along to the Canmore Women’s Enduro on August 31st. This event was sold out - over 150 women took to the trails at the Canmore Nordic Centre (one of the venues from the 1988 Winter Olympic Games) - and the vibes were as high as the surrounding peaks. Besides being an all-around fun time, this event has a strong focus on giving back to the community, and creating an inclusive space for women in the enduro discipline. 

Between stages, you catch a glimpse of this incredible community in action. Friends, family, and fellow racers cheering each other on during timed descents. Women making and exchanging friendship bracelets, giving tips for the fastest lines while applying glitter to their hair and cheeks, and cheers’ing a lemonade at the aid station. 

This special event sets up at the fairgrounds in Tunbridge, Vermont and is organized by our friends Rachel and Tyler Cohen. I rode the course this year, as Robby and Carina ran the Bivo booth! I wore my Bivo socks and stocked my bike with Bivo bottles, representing the company en route. I enjoyed many (breathy) conversations with other riders about Bivo, as we trudged up the never-ending hills that epitomize this event. 

This is such a fun, local event we can’t recommend enough!

A 100 mile ride in Texas in August? I was a bit worried, coming from Vermont! But, I was also very curious to meet the people signing up (and paying) to do this ride! While it was hot, I loved getting to meet the people that return to this ride year after year. 

People stopped by after their 100 mile ride in 90+ degree heat that had just taken the leap of faith to try Bivo, shaking their bottle at me to show me that it was still holding ice! Many other riders brought their friends by, telling them all about our bottles. I really love hearing other people explain Bivo and learning what they love most about the bottles. Whether it is the insulation, cleanability, or the clean, not plasticy taste!

Sometimes at events when people come up and rave about Bivo, I almost feel like they are paid actors planted to convince others how great Bivo is, but, they are truly just stoked customers who wanted to express their love for our bottles! We are so grateful for that.
