I really should have brought another change of clothes… is what I was thinking on a warm, muggy day out in Portland, Oregon. I was at the set of Bivo’s Holiday color photoshoot. We were in a well-lit room, we had plenty of coffee to go around, and I had just dumped a full Bivo over my head for the 10th time, as the camera clicked away, capturing the iconic flow.
Soaked to the bone, I looked at the time: 10:30am. An hour and a half into the all-day long photoshoot and I only had one set of dry clothes. If the rest of the day was going to stay as wet as the morning had been, I really should have brought at least 3 changes of clothes…

Oh well! I was wet, but happy. I had been looking forward to this day for months: photoshoot day for our Holiday colors!
Our designer Mark had planned a perfect day. New models came in every hour to capture the shots we needed of our new bottle colors.
We started the day by welcoming Dillon and Colleen (and their dog!). These two sported gorgeous coordinated kits and they were so joyous as they both quickly got soaked!

Throughout the day, Carina and I snuck in a few photos, pouring water over our heads in our cycling helmets, glasses, and gloves.

Carina was wearing a pair of Curious Creatures shorts- and once we saw how well Coral matched the back pocket of the shorts, we knew we had to capture it!
Finally, we encouraged Carina to get all bundled up in her nordic ski gear to take some skiing shots with the new colors.

It was a fantastic day out in Portland, and we are so excited to finally be able to share all the shots we captured that day! Enjoy the new colors!

Back in Vermont a totally different yet equally wet photoshoot was happening with everyone back home. We all grabbed our swimsuits, piled into a car, grabbed lunch at the local bakery, and headed to Lake Iroquois with our new Bivo socks and the new Holiday colors in tow.
Our first stop at the lake was the playground, of course. After a few rounds on the swings, we were putting Sam’s hand eye coordination to the test, seeing if he could catch a bottle while flying through the air. It took a few ungraceful landings on the woodchips, but on the third jump, he landed on his feet with a bottle in hand.

Following the swings, we thought that some pictures of the bottles in trees could be a cool idea, but as it turns out it’s pretty hard to climb a tree without any branches. The best Robby could do was shimmy up a few feet, but we still got some good shots out of his attempts.
It had been a lovely morning, but then it was time to get to work. We all jumped into the lake and started the official photoshoot off with an underwater handstand contest. It’s unclear who the winner was, but our main takeaway was that it was good we were all bikers and skiers, not swimmers or gymnasts.

The bottles kept drifting away as we focused on rating all the handstands, but going to fetch them from the edge of the lake was a good reminder that we were there for business, not play.
Our vision was to have the bottles sticking out of the water with only our hands visible, but it ended up being pretty tough to stay still under water and hold the bottle where you wanted it. Also, the seaweed snaking up from the ground of the lake and wrapping around our ankles wasn’t helping matters.
