The day started off just right: a morning team meeting over hot coffee that Sam had artfully prepared (he managed to pull off some impressive latte art, including a perfect leaf, and some not-so-perfect shapes which we all gently called ‘ghosts’ 😂 🫶).
Anyways, we had a big day ahead and had to fuel up: it was our fall team photoshoot day.
We brought on one of Bivo’s ambassadors– the amazing Joshua Strong– to photograph that day. Joshua is an impressive photographer and cyclocross racer and we were so excited to have them documenting the Bivo team’s culture and the perfect Vermont fall day.
After our coffee meeting, Caitlin worked for a while, fulfilling all of your orders that came in over the weekend. She is a dream team and managed to ship out all the bottles before we all headed out to Waitsfield for the rest of the day.

We debated the meaning of ‘peak’ foliage for a while as we drove to our first destination: the top of Appalachian Gap. After parking, it was pretty clear that thiswas peak foliage- every direction we looked, the fall colors were stunning.
We all laced up our shoes, grabbed a Bivo bottle and headed out for a quick run on the long trail to enjoy the views and the very steeptrails.
The trails were much slipperier than we expected, so we were pretty muddy by the time we were ready to stop for lunch.

After a lunch break, we got ready for a gravel ride on the backroads of Waitsfield. Robby and Carina immediately pulled ahead and crushed the rest of us on the first climb (classic!). Winded, the rest of us met them at the top and took a breather.
For the last few miles of the ride, Sam kept pulling off trick after trick and it was clear he is seriously talented on the bike.

Eventually, we made it back to the parking lot and Sam, Lily and myself psyched ourselves up to jump in the river, fully aware it was in the 50s outside. The water wasn’t as bad as we expected, and Lily and Sam even jumped in two or three more times, practicing catching a Bivo bottle mid-jump.
After warming up, we finished off the day with what every Vermonter loves best: a creemee (Vermont’s superior version of soft serve ice cream!).
It was the perfect day to explore the valley as a team and get some great photos, thanks Joshua!
