Introducing Our Friends at Curious Creatures

August 15th, 2024 | by Carina Hamel

We have some friends doing some cool things in the bike space and we wanted to share it all with you! Shortly after we launched Bivo, I received a message from Natasha Woodworth, an old high school friend and the design lead at Patagonia. She was feeling the itch to start her own brand and she reached out to chat. Some of my closest friends have dubbed me the “quit coach” because I’m all about encouraging people to embrace change and pursue new challenges.

When Tasha asked if she was crazy for wanting to take the leap, I told her, “Maybe a little—but you’d be even crazier not to go for it!” Knowing Tasha, I had no doubt that whatever she created would be nothing short of amazing, and I couldn’t wait to see her vision come to life.

Last summer, Tasha brought Curious Creatures into the world, and I have to say, she has exceeded my expectations. I bought the Ramble Scramble Short and shortly after Robby bought himself a pair - now we are that ridiculous matching couple (but I promise we try to not wear them together). I love them. Robby loves them. And it’s so awesome to support another new and upcoming brand.

Since Curious Creatures is based in Bozeman, MT, I asked Tasha for her favorite ride in the area.

She sent me to the Red Canyon #205 Trail, hailing 30 switching backs. It’s in grizzly country near Big Sky with epic views and a short drive to Bozeman. Starting in a dense pine forest, the trail turns to tight switchbacks over rocky terrain. As you push higher, the views start to open up, revealing Montana’s stunning mountain vistas - something we miss here in Vermont! The trail’s surface changes from packed dirt to loose gravel, with roots and rocks adding an extra layer of fun. And when you reach the top? The view is simply unbeatable. Then comes the descent—a fast, thrilling ride that lets you feel the trail beneath you as you carve your way back down.

Bring some drinks and food for the end because the trail is a bit out there, but Tasha says a stop at Cowboy Coffee in Big Sky is essential for a post ride treat.
